MORE BIG FISH GUIDE SERVICE
Fish the bays and flats surrounding Aransas Pass, Port Aransas,
Rockport, and Corpus Christi with Capt. Ron.
Our area is home to some of the most fertile fishing grounds found on
the Texas Gulf Coast.
Whether your desire is fishing for trophy speckled trout, monster bull
redfish, wade fishing, fly fishing, or fishing with artificial lures,
Capt. Ron can take care of everything for your next fishing trip.
Fishing continues to be good between windstorms. Were trout fishing in
Nueces Bay. It's full of shell reefs and mud and gets blown out easily
but were getting our fish there wind permitting. Aransa Bay and flats
usually remains clear enough to fish but trout and reds there have
been hard to find but were getting pretty good results fishing for
reds with live croaker, cut shad, and cut skipjack. Were picking up
some trout as well while fishing for reds. The wind is calming down
now so I expect fishing to return to normal so let me hear from you.
I'm now booking trips for September and later.
Give me a call to reserve!

Flounder Gigging Trips
on the Texas Gulf Coast!
Proudly Serving the Texas Coastal Bend
Areas from Rockport / Port Aransas to Corpus Christi.
Floundering has been outstanding this month even with these
high SE winds. We have been giggin limits of flounder in 3-4
hrs. Most fish are in the 2lb range and are about 16" - 20".
With most of the areas "wind blown" I have been concentrating
my efforts to spoil areas and islands that are blocked from
the high southeast winds. This has been consistently good
every night and holding a lot of fish and clearer water than
other areas. We have been seeing a few black drum & sheepshead
as well that are an added bonus!! As the summer months proceed
I expect the winds to lay down and the fishing to get even
better. So put the sun tan lotion away and come have some fun
at night and do a lil flounder giggin with

Hot weather brings on hot fishing action. The nice sized reds and a
good number of oversized reds have been hitting all week. It's been
a after lunch bite but when they turn on they bite hard and fast.
Again they have been found from one end of the flats by Blind Pass
all the way over to South Bay. I've been catching my own live
mullets with a cast net and using them live and cut. The puppy black
drum have been biting good also. Been averaging a flounder or two
per trip which makes a nice mess of fish.

Finally the redfish are starting to show up in the flats. We have
been targeting the potholes in the dirty water with piggies and
working them slower than normal. Use a variety of bait to find what
they are eating. Cracked crab, cut mullet and finger mullet are some
examples. For trout we have been switching back and forth from
croaker to piggies. Still target the edges of the drop-offs and the
deeper water. San Jose and outside of Traylor is still producing
trout in the early hours of the day.
Drum have been under a lot of pressure the last few weeks so it's
hit and miss. When you find them, free-line dead shrimp in front of
them. Most of the drum have been up tight to the shorelines and can
be seen if you look hard enough.

Well summertime heat is definitely here! I've been early on the
water and early off due to the hot bite I've been having here the
last week. I primarily fish for redfish and I've had limits before
it gets real hot temperature wise out on the water. I've been on
large schools of some really solid fish too. Some days I've actually
had trouble catching fish under the slot limit if you can believe
that. Look for the redfish action to stay hot for August. I still

8-1-2015: Fishing has been great
this summer. We have been catching a lot of trout and flounder all
along the ICW focusing on the cut outs. Most of the trout have come
from the drop off on live shrimp and popping corks. For the flounder
I use either gulp swimming mullet or a curly tail grub with shrimp
pro cure with a 1/4 oz jig head bouncing off the bottom. The reds
are becoming more active in the flats.

howdy it has been catching not fishing for myself and my clients. One
morning I polled the boat within casting distance of around 15 or so
redfish and in seconds of the bait piercing the water my client was hooked
up on a line stripper and after she landed it she sat down and said Tommy
stop casting so far from the boat. I smiled. Looked around and didn't see
the rest of the pod so on to next stop. Seemed like every time I stopped
to fish a area she said " don't cast the baits to far " We had a great
morning of fishing and had some nice fish in the box. Thanks Rob & Sharon

is heating up along with the temperatures it's that time of year.
I'm Gigging flounder in the range of 16-21". I had a 24" that
weighed 7pounds Looked like a winter fish. Gigging more sheepshead
in the 4-8# range. There's still a lot of under-sized
sheepshead - the bigger ones are starting to show up now in
good numbers. The drum are there one night and gone the next their
size is 16-18" - not big ones but real good eating size. Seeing reds
on the points and drop offs and in good number too! Trout are being
caught on croaker in good numbers around islands and drop offs and a
lot of small drum in the 16-21" - hitting free-lined shrimp
and rattling corks!

Since the falling of the high tides the black drum fishing has been
great on dead shrimp near drop offs and grass lines near reefs free
lined or on 1/8 oz. jig heads. Speckled Trout:
Trout fishing has been really good as well on live Croaker and Piggy
Perch either free lined or under shakers about 1-2í, fishing 4-6í of
water with grass beds look for sweet smelling slicks that pop and
fish close to them. Donít be afraid to get out of the boat and wade
those trout also. Wading can be very productive and donít forget to
work those live baits in the potholes. Redfish: Redfishing
has picked up and are on the flats near good tidal flow areas look
for reds in 1-3í of water and make sure to place your baits in the
potholes. Top water lures an also be deadly early in the morning.
Remember it is getting hot out there donít forget to stay
hydrated drink plenty of water and be aware of the signs of heat

the slow incoming tide at night has been pushing muddy water in, and
up onto the banks. The deeper guts the past couple of weeks, have
made it a little bit tougher to find some decent gigging water.
Although, I am still working hard and finding limits of flounder for
my customers. The gigging action will continue to get better
and better as the night progresses on with the water temperature
continuing to warm. A four person group, twenty fish limit is taking
us about 4 hours to gig. Most of the flounder are ranging in size
from 16 to 19 inches, and 2 to 3 pounds over hard sand and short
grass. We have also been managing to find a few drum and sheepshead
as well. August/September dates AVAILABLE!

We are still catching some nice box's of fish this week. We have
been catching almost all are keeper's from large schools due to
fishing pressure and low tide conditions they are schooled up.
I would start out checking drop offs close to deeper water Dagger,
Sunray, mud Island, and sailboat channel in redfish bay would be
some great areas to start. Dead shrimp has been bait of choice while
fishing the schools. Out of Corpus Christi if you start around bird
inland work south drifting the west spoils will produce some nice
trout. I have been getting them with soft plastics or throwing free
lined croaker. Give me a call at 361 463-6545 to reserve your next

Hello Everybody, Trout fishing is "spec"tacular with boat
limits occurring daily. Croaker is the bait of choice and the
occasional big fish is being boated as well. The weather has been
super. reds are in the flats but are a bit more challenging. One day
they are there and we do well and the next day poof they are gone.
Overall things are well as you would expect and boat traffic is
still light except for Fridays and Saturdays. Most guides still have
a few open days so give one a call and come to the Coast. I think
