5-17-2015 Hello to all!  Well we had our share of rain. But This has not slowed the fishing down. For all the Trout fishermen the croaker have arrived and the trout bite has been great. We've had limits coming in steadily. Trout our holding on the grass beds in 3-4 feet of water. A Crocker free lined will get you bit. We can look for the trout fishing to get better and better as we go further into summer. Redfish are excellent in 1-2 feet of water. Work the sand pockets and shell pads. There biting on a verity of baits. Try shad, pin perch and sea lice. If you like to throw artificial try a gold spoon early and late. The black drum our biting on live and fresh dead shrimp around the shell in 2-3 feet of water. We had some high tides the last couple of weeks and it's brought a lot of fish in the bay's and flats. Our fishing will be at its best from May thru October. I would also like to remind everyone that the best days to fish are during the week if possible. You will see less boat traffic on the water and better conditions. But then again the best time to fish is when you can. Hope to see you soon - weekends fill-up fast, so book your trip now!

5-17-2015:  Hello Everybody! If you have not planned your trip to the Coast please do so. I think this year will be phenomenal! The weather pattern is causing lots of rain but it will turn nice again.  Even in spite of the rains, the fishing has been great1  Reds are all over the flats and eating anything you put in front of them. Once again...boat limits have been common for a while and over sized reds are not uncommon. trout are here and coming in everyday. Shrimp and a popping cork is the best option, but they will also hit artificial presentations. Croaker are here, but still on the small-side - and the last time I had checked the bait stands in Aransas Pass, they were still not bringing them in due to their small size.  So we wait for a little while longer, but otherwise the fishing has been producing great numbers of redfish and some black drum too!

FLOUNDER GIGGING AT NIGHT IS FANTASTIC!

5-17-2015: Howdy Gigging Fans!  After the big rains up and down the coast the past couple of weeks and the relentless high winds, the gigging action has been hot and heavy!  We have had some big bull tides over the last couple of weeks, and there has been some big schools of flounder pushed in from the Gulf up onto the flats. With the water temperature hanging in the mid-70s and the slow incoming tide, the flounder have been wanting to come up into the shallows early in the night. I have been finding most of my fish on hard sand around title movement points of the island. The flounder are averaging 15 to 18 inches. It has been taking about 4 hours to gig a 20 fish limit with very few drum and sheepshead.  It looks like we are going to have some awesome flounder gigging this summer! Don't wait, RESERVE YOUR TRIP NOW!

5-17-2015: Trout fishing has been the focus the past week. Were catching limits to near limits when the wind and water cooperate. Were fishing with live shrimp or live croakers freelined along the shorelines. The trout have been fairly good size with most of them 18 to 22 inches. The redfish action has been good. Their wanting pin perch, sea lice, cut mullet or live finger mullet. If you can get fresh shad then that is the better bait. Fish the flats in the sand holes with no weight.

OFFICIAL GUIDE: CYSTIC FIBROSIS FOUNDATION'S ANNUAL TOURNAMENT - TEXAS GULF COAST CHAPTER

"FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN ARE ALWAYS WELCOME - SAFETY IS #1 ON MY BOAT!"

5-17-2015:  When fishing in Rockport Fulton Texas this year make sure you keep a good look at the weather because with these slow moving fronts mixed with low pressure makes it rain with dangerous thunderstorms that means lighting that's no fun fishing in holding onto a fishing pole. Hey! The croaker are here in the flats and the bait stands sell out quickly every morning. Croaker are the bait of choice for speckled trout - at this time of year. If the wind this time of the year wouldn't blow so hard (but it does and that makes it tougher fishing), try to go early morning or late (around sunset) when the wind dies down and you can fill the ice chest up with trout! Or course, the tides are running high with all the rain - which makes it easier to get into the flats that you can't normally drift in to. I snuck-up on a nice school of drum that were loving cut mullet, crab and shrimp...and catching them on a muddy bottom or a mix of grassy areas too! One of this past week's customers caught a nice-size drum in a grassy areas. Sometimes - even fishing on mixed shell can help so move around some, try different underwater conditions and come up with a great day on the water! Thanks for reading!!

LET'S GO WHERE THE WATER IS PRISTINE AND THE FISH ARE ALWAYS BITING!!!  CEDAR BAYOU IS HOT!!!

Hello everybody . Fishing has been pretty darn good for me and my clients. I took out the Seale party of five a couple days ago . My plan for that trip was to fish only two spots. I had been fishing a location that was producing later in the morning so I had looked in my notes from previous years for this time of year and noticed a spot that kept popping up in my notes. I decided to fish it and boy howdy I was glad I did. I never had to go to my second stop . When we started fishing it was steady catching for there on out . I guess we had about 5 in the box when all the sudden we started catching some hard heads. Darn it !!! I decided to stop fishing for about 15 minutes in hopes that the hard heads would move on. It obviously worked because we started catching redfish once again. We stayed put and boxed 15 redfish . After we caught the five limits I needed to check and see if the other spot was holding it's own . Put out two poles just as a test and rods started bending. Come getcha some !!!
I ENJOY FISHING WITH KIDS. IT BRINGS BACK MEMORIES WHEN MY DAD TOOK ME FISHING AS A YOUNG BOY TOO........BRING THE KIDDOS PLEASE!!

5-17-2015: Trout are showing on Traylor Island hitting on croaker while the Redfish are all over Estes Flats hitting cut shad!  Fishing has been great - in spite of the rain, I have found them!   Mud Island and Allynís Bight have been holding trout and reds in good numbers and the high tides are making Cedar Bayou very accessible with some trophy-size reds and larger trout.  Even the Black Drum fishing has turned on significantly - and I've seen some pretty  large school of drum this past week eating the shrimp under a popping cork.  If you fish the Second Chain, you'll find the reds and trout both are eating shrimp under a popping cork - they both seem pretty hungry in the mornings too and late afternoon.  When I went over to the Matagorda shoreline, there were some super trout  hitting topwaters and my customers where very happy about that!   Reefs in San Antonio Bay are producing trout, reds and drum - all in good numbers and they were also hitting live shrimp on popping cork as well as chomping-down on croaker!

5-17-2015: Hello To Everyone, How about some rain, then how about some more rain, and then...? Yes, it is wet and if you're located in the Coastal Bend to Austin you have been getting rain and a lot of it. The ironic thing about it two years ago we were crying for rain, therefore, I'm not griping about moisture now! Get a rain slicker and as long as it's not lightning lets go catch some Reds and Trout . If you are drifting free line your bait and if you are anchored up in the grass use a cork in the potholes. The bait stands have Croakers, Shrimp, Mullets, etc. In certain areas you will need Croakers, in other areas you will need shrimp, so keep throwing both till one proves productive. Like I say, get a rain slicker, and "lets go catch you some memories!"  Call: 432-349-0353
Contact me if you're interested in wading for Reds and Blacks...and let's go make some memories!

Active Military - 10% Discount!     Families w/ Children Welcome!

5-1-2015: Bay Fishing and Flounder Gigging FINALLY THE WEATHER PATTERN HAS CHANGED!  The fresh water in the bays has put SPRING FISHING FEVER IN EVERYONE WHO LIKES TO FISH!   We have been finding many schools of redfish coming into the flats already which means this spring and summer are going to be one of the best year's ever!  Remember that the fishing conditions in April typically mean - moving around to find the fish, so don't get stuck on one, single location. Just because they were there yesterday doesn't mean they are there today.  Be prepared to fish the drop-offs near the flats for redfish and all along the reefs for trout!  Redfish will be holding over shallow water around mid-day, getting some sun then dropping back down to drop-offs during the night. If you're fishing bait, you'll find that one day cut mullet, the next peeled shrimp and yet again, shrimp on a popping cork!  Live shrimp has been working for specks along the edges of the ICW and drifting has proved to be the best way to throw-your bait up against the banks. Flounder have been plentiful but mostly seeing the smaller flounder with a couple of nice-sized ones at night!  Try a night=time flounder trip - like nothing you've ever done before!!!

5-17-2015  Redfishing has been good on cut bait while fishing the potholes from Rockport to Ingleside Carolina rigged with 5/0 Mustad hooks with Ĺ oz egg weights. Trout fishing has been good on lures while wading in 3-5í of water over sandy grassy pockets that gets good tidal movement. Black Drum should be showing up soon on Grassy shorelines closed to drop-offs. The spring tides have brought us a great supply of bait sources and the fishing should continue to get better.
