The Fishing has been holding out strong . It is still hot but I am
still on good numbers of trout on piggies and croaker. The winds
have finally come down so its been a little easier to hit those deep
submerged reefs. I have been catching a few more reds on plastics
wading and also using bait. I think they will be showing up more in
the later part of Aug. and into September. I still have some good
days left open in September and October so give me a call if you are
ready to go fishing and have some fun.

The days seem to be getting hotter and the reds are hiding to keep
from getting sun burned I guess. The late afternoon trips have been
being more productive than the scorching sun days. The Reds are
still biting, but we've been catching more later in the day. As
always I'm still using cut and live mullet for bait. Blind Pass and
up beside the floating duck blind have been very good places for the
Reds. Good catching to you. Capt. Charlie

Fishing the surf has been the key to getting the trout. Start out
deep by the third bar free lining croaker or piggies. Move in closer
as needed 5 to 10 yards at a time. Limits should come easy. We've
been picking up a few reds, blacktips and a ray now and then.
Another area we've been fishing is Nueces Bay. Target areas around
the reefs free lining croaker or piggies. Move from reef to reef on
an incoming or outgoing tide in the front reefs. Solid trout have
been plentiful with a few reds mixed in. Until next time, rod tips
up and tight lines.

8-16-2015: Hello To Everyone,
As I have stated in the past several Fishing Reports the Reds from 2
months ago were practically non existent, but were steadily each
week starting to show up. Now I'm seeing and catching good thick
Reds that are hungry. As far as Trout when the wind blows as it has
done for several days the "catching" has been tough, but not
impossible. We had been limiting out on Trout on calmer days and
then going after the Spotted Tails. The beauty of fishing for Reds
is you can fish them in windy conditions and still be very
successful. The baits we have been using are Croakers, Shad, and
Piggies with Piggies working the best.

Hello to all.
August is here and it's starting off hot. Fishing for trout has been
great and will continue Thur out the month. Trout have been in
deeper water in depths of 4 to 8 feet. Look for these fish around
deeper grass beds. We been catching them on croaker and piggy perch
with limits. The Redfish are showing up. Look for them in depths of
1 to 3 feet. There biting on a verity of baits mullet, pin perch and
piggy perch. A top water bait thrown early in the morning will draw
a strike for sure. Black drum are good on shrimp live or dead. Look
for them in schooling up this month on lower tides. August can be a
very hot month be sure and drink lots of water and wear lots of sun

Man is it hot!! The early bird definitely gets the worm this time of
year. Our water levels have been down for the last few weeks making
it somewhat easy to catch fish, but you have to get it done soon
before it gets too hot and the sun gets high in the sky. Limits of
redfish have been the norm for me the last two weeks, but I've had
some tough days as well because of the lack of wind. With the lack
of wind, I'm faced with the toughest conditions for catching
redfish. Thank goodness we've only seen a few of these kind of days
so far. Hopefully we'll start getting a couple of fronts to cool
things off a bit, and some rain to boot. I still have a few dates
open in August for those of you that would like to take the kids
fishing before school starts. Give me a shout and we'll see what we
can get worked out.

8-16-2015: Fishing has been great
this summer. Fishing along the ICW for trout remains reliable. The
flats around the boat hole have been good for drift fishing early in
the morning and moving to deeper water as the temperature gets up.
I've mostly been throwing live shrimp or gulp on a popping cork.
Remember to cast past the sand holes or drop offs and work your cork

8-16-2015: Fishing report
for August 2015. The October run is almost here and can be Some of
the best gigging of the year. The flounder drum and sheepshead start
migrating when cold fronts roll in and they start fattening up for
winter. My weekends book up fast so get them while you can. As far
as the fishing goes It's a snap shot of the last report gigging
15-25 flounder a night getting a few sheepshead, drum are slow. I
had 2 nights when we gigged larger flounder out of 20 To 25 fish
2/3s were 17-19" Definitely more filets in the bag. Gigging a lot of
fish on grass adjacent to deeper water. Hope you enjoyed my report
here's my catch of the month.

Black Drum since the falling of the high tides the black drum
fishing has been good on dead shrimp near drop offs and grass lines
near reefs free lined or on 1/8 oz. jig heads.
Trout fishing has been great as well on live Croaker and Piggy Perch
either free lined or under shakers about 1-2í, fishing 4-6í of water
with grass beds look for sweet smelling slicks that pop and fish
close to them. Donít be afraid to get out of the boat and wade
those trout also. Wading can be very productive and donít forget to
work those live baits in the potholes. Live bait on the beach has
been good too.
Red fishing has picked up and are on the flats near good tidal flow
areas look for reds in 1-3í of water and make sure to place your
baits in the potholes. Top water lures an also be deadly early in
the morning. Use live finger mullet or cut mullet fish the potholes
of your favorite flat.
Remember it is getting hot out there donít forget to stay
hydrated drink plenty of water and be aware of the signs of heat

GIGGING AT NIGHT IS FANTASTIC!
With the water temperature remaining in the high 80's and our
current low tide these past few weeks, the gigging action is hot and
heavy - with LIMITS EVERY NIGHT.
I have been finding most of my fish near deep water. The water
temperature has the flounder holding out deep during the day, where
the water is cooler and with the slow incoming tide at night, it
starts pushing them up on to the flats as the sun starts to set.
Right now it is taking us about 3 to 4 hours, to gig a 20 fish
During the late trips I am leaving the dock around midnight, giving
the water temperature plenty of time to cool down. We are gigging a
20 fish limit in about 2 hours on the late trips.
Most of the flounder are weighing 2 to 3 pounds, which is typical
size for this time of year. We are gigging a few drum and sheepshead
I still have a few weeknights open the second half of August and
gladly offering late trips.

South Texas Giggers & Anglers! Well, this summer has
been more than fantastic, we have been getting limits up until
all this high wind started a couple days ago. I had elected to
stay in these last few nights, but the flounder are truly
every where I go, not a whole bunch of large ones ,but all
keepers, not having to measure but 1 or 2 a night. Some of the
spots last couple weeks had Drum nice 20 to 22 inch ones and
there's been a spackling of sheepshead, that will increase
once we can get some incoming tide at night, we experienced
very low tides over about most of July. The flounders going on
the boat are 15 to 20 fish a night and at least 5 are around
18 to19 inches every time ,this is one fantastic summer! Have
plenty of weekdays and a few weekends left in August, give me
a shout and let's go get yours!

Our area is home to some of the most fertile fishing grounds found on
the Texas Gulf Coast.
Whether your desire is fishing for trophy speckled trout, monster bull
redfish, wade fishing, fly fishing, or fishing with artificial lures,
Capt. Ron can take care of everything for your next fishing trip.
Fishing has been good for reds on the flats. Were using cut shad and
live piggy perch for bait. If you use live piggies put 2 on the same
hook and you will have better results. Trout action has been limited
to small male trout along the shorelines and flats. There are some
larger trout on the shell reefs in Aransas Bay and Corpus Christi Bay.
The spoils along the ICW in Aransas Bay have been holding some nice
trout as well. Were using live piggies for the trout. I'm booking

Hello Everybody, Trout fishing is "spec"tacular with boat
limits occurring daily. Croaker is the bait of choice and the
occasional big fish is being boated as well. The weather has been
super. reds are in the flats but are a bit more challenging. One day
they are there and we do well and the next day poof they are gone.
Overall things are well as you would expect and boat traffic is
still light except for Fridays and Saturdays. Most guides still have
a few open days so give one a call and come to the Coast. I think
that you will be glad you did!
